Every time you open a geoprocessing tool it counts how many features are active in the current selection/definition query/whatever, when working with large datasets (millions of rows) this is quite slow and half the time it fails and times out anyway.
It seems every time you click off the GP pane it also triggers an update of the feature count. It is really unnecessary for advanced users, I already know I have a query active. Please give us the option to turn this off or just limit it to say "there is a filter active".
Hello, This is already offered in ArcGIS Pro 3.5 as part of this bug fix: https://support.esri.com/en-us/bug/arcgis-pro-geoprocessing-tools-that-have-layers-from-or-bug-00016...
The count will not generate automatically for filtered data, instead you will need to press the "Get Count" text on the toggle button message. And if the get count takes too long, you will get a timed out message.
Out of curiosity, what is "too long"?
