When you create a locator for geocoding you need to select a primary locator role. It would be really nice to have a Legal Land Division locator role added to the role list. Or at least to have an option to create your own custom role.
@AntonSizo What would be the purpose of such role? What would you be mapping to build the locator with this role? What would you be searching for? How would the locator created from this role be used?
@ShanaBritt Sometimes location of assets or client/users are described by legal land description (LLD). There are a few LLD systems used in Canada between provinces, for example see a good summary here: Learn about legal land descriptions in Canada. (townshipcanada.com).
So, if you have cadastral datasets and you want to map your data that has only LLD attributive information as a location, you would want to create a locator from that cadastral datasets first. In order to create a correct locator, you would want to use a respective locator role.
Actually, I was surprised that the default ArcGIS geocoder does not have that capability.
@AntonSizo Have you attempted to create a locator with the cadastral data using the POI role in the Create Locator tool or with the Create Feature Locator tool using the field that contains the LLD info? The locators support searching for coordinates by default, https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/3.3/help/data/geocoding/tips-for-improving-geocoding-quality.htm#E....
