In ArcGIS Pro 3.6, the user can now calculate in the calculate ribbon as shown below. It would be nice if the user can also calculate a new field as well along with defining its name, alias, data type and length (for text). This would be useful for new fields that have a constant value.
Hi @Ed_ , thanks for reaching out. We are working on adding the ability to specify new fields to the Calculate Field toolbar in ArcGIS Pro 3.7. But we are considering making it equivalent to the geoprocessing tool, so only with the ability to specify a new field name and field type.
In ArcGIS Pro 3.7, you will see a new Field Type choice-list in the Calculate Field toolbar, which you can use to specify the data type for new fields.
