Enable more of the Microsoft standard shortcuts such as F2 for rename.

e.g.    I am in browse menu to select an MXD to open.  While I am there I realize that one of the MXDs listed should be deleted or possibly renamed.  In Word I would merely right-click and select "rename" or "delete" from the menu.  I have used "cut" to remove a document from one folder, navigated to a different folder and pasted it there.

I would be happy if they could simply standardize the functionality of existing shortcuts, eg sometimes ctrl-c will copy selected text and in other places you have to right-click and choose copy from menu. Lame.

ArcGIS Desktop is in mature support and will be retired March 1, 2026 so we won’t be considering this idea. We recommend that you migrate to ArcGIS Pro, our fully supported desktop GIS application.
