Eliminate for polygons with shared vertices

It would be great if there were a version of the eliminate tool that could deal with polygons connected to other polygons only by one vertex. Currently the eliminate tool connects to polygons connected by two or more vertices.  When converting rasters to polygons it is really common to get polygons that are diagonal to one another (see the image below).

The Eliminate tool currently allows the user to dissolve selected polygons into shared polygons with the longest border. Several raster operations will create "pixel-polygons" or polygons that represent a single pixel.  The Watershed tool is a prime example of this.  These polygons may be connected to their neighbor by a single vertex, not a shared border. By increasing the number of options to users this could greatly reduce manual editing.

There have been no comments or kudos on this idea in several years. We have no plans to implement it in our product plan so we will close it.
