When using ArcGIS Pro for day to day business you tend to open a large number of panes to complete your workflows. It would be useful if all but the Contents and Project Pane were closed on exiting a project. Alternatively, when a new project is created from a template it would be good to just have the Contents and Project Pane displayed when the project is open by default rather than all the other panes you have had open the last time you used ArcGIS Pro.

Great idea!

I'd like to add that building this into each project means projects that are reopened would load faster since open panes (maps and Layouts) would not need to be drawn again.

At the very least allow us the ability to have this be the default behavior if it fits our work flows. ("Close all tabs and save project").

There was functionality added in ArcGIS Pro 2.3 called Reset Panes that might respond to this request: What's new in ArcGIS Pro 2.3—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

Kory - I just posted a new idea ... add a Save option to the new Reset Panes menu.
