When shape geometry like area is attributed to a feature, the attribute table should support the calculation of percentage area. Currently this is possible only through the field calculator by applying the formula ([area]/total area)*100
Where the total area is obtained from the statistics tab (Right click the column)
If an option is available in the attribute table (Similar to calculating the area using "calculate geometry". It will be very useful.
