Button in Symbology pane to reset symbology to default

Could a button be added to the Symbology pane to reset a layer's symbology to the default symbol? 

I don't want to remove and re-add layers to reset the symbology, since I would lose my definition query, join, and other layer settings.

This is a great idea and a logical placement of where the reset button could live.
