Do you ever wonder where you can get authoritative 3D data for use in your 3D scenes? Esri now offers a solution to this problem. Over the past year, the Scene Layers and Data Content teams have been hard at work creating a global 3D dataset from Open Street Map that can be used by anyone with access to ArcGIS Online. With the June 2022 release, this dataset is now available on the Living Atlas!

Bring these layers into ArcGIS Pro 3.0 (Not supported in earlier releases) or the Scene Viewer and create beautiful 3D scenes of your neighborhoods, cities, and regions. See the following blog post for more details!

How to add to ArcGIS Pro 3.0 ?

1. Ensure you are connected to ArcGIS Online and it is set as your active portal.

2. In the Catalog Pane click the Portal tab and click the Living Atlas Tab.

3. Search for OpenStreetMap 3D Buildings.

4. Add the web scene or the individual scene layers to a new global scene

5. Zoom to your desired neighborhood to see the 3D content.

Note: Availability of data is limited to what's in Open Street Map. If you don't see your data there feel free to add it! See the blog for more details.

As this will be in beta in the next few months we will continue to enhance this dataset and bring more functionality to make this more accessible and usable in the coming releases!
