Hello all,

I am a newbie to this community.  I am working withing a parcel fabric.  I have been working in this data set since the beginning of 2024.

Currently, I have been experiencing problems with the Build Extent and Build Active tools on the Parcels/Records/ tab.

This is my workflow:

1. With a scratch cogo line feature, I use the traverse tool to create cogo lines.

2. I create a new record.

3. I use 'Copy Lines To' copy these cogo lines to a parcel type.

3. I then use the "Build" tool.

The above has been my work flow all year.  Now, the Build tool will not create the polygon.  New lines are created by the copy lines tool and a polygon seed is created.  If I utilize geoprocessing tool: Build Parcel Fabric, the polygons are created from the seeds.  Maybe I am missing something.  Would anyone have any tips?

Thank you for the replies.  I believe the problem I am having is a workflow issue.  Albeit I don't think I made a change to my workflow, but all clues lead to this conclusion.  Part of my workflow involves utilizing the 'Align Features' tool to align various parcel type and record polygons. In order to do this alignment, I do turn off topology.  As long as I remember to turn parcel fabric topology back on, the build tool works with no issues.

Hello StuCarr
Do you get an error message when you attempt to build out the seed?

The seed implies the lines form a closed loop, and that they're all part of the record. All the lines are visible in the map extent when you click Build? I can't think of anything obvious besides that.

What versions of everything are you running? We'd occasionally seen similar behavior a couple years ago, but I never could figure out why it did it, except that maybe the program was caching something wrong. Restarting the program and/or turning off caching for the parcel fabric layers seemed to help.

You could try opening the Diagnostic Monitor to see what Pro is doing when you click "Build".

We are using parcel fabric version 5,  enterprise version 10.9.1, and arcgis pro version 2.9.
