It would be wonderful if the Explode tool in the Modify Features pane in ArcGIS Pro automated the creation of historic features.
Much like the COTS Merge tool, this tool has a "Keep Original Features" checkbox. In the merge tool, having this option checked puts the original or parent parcels into history.
If having that same option checked in the Explode tool (with an active record set in the map) put the original or parent parcel into history, that would make it so I did not have to go in after using Explode to use the "Set Historic" tool on the original feature.
With ArcGIS Pro 3.2 the explode tool will create historic parcels if there is an Active Record, to create multiple child parcels.
However, if this is not desired, simply deactivate the record (make sure there is no active record).
Would this suffice?
Yes! That is great! Would it be possible to get this in a patch for ArcGIS Pro 3.1, or will this only be available in 3.2?
Implemented with ArcGIS Pro 3.2
