Why do my domains work in my web map but not in arc collector?

I have a feature layer that my team uses for data collection out in the field. I have had to go into the JSON and manually change some of the domains to fit their needs. I am not getting errors when I update the service definition, however, the domains are not working at all in arc collector. Other changes that I have manually made to the service definition file DO show up in collector. Also, the most confounding thing is that all of my domains work perfectly in the webmap that collector is pulling from. Please help!

Are the domains also updated under the Types and Templates for the service?

No but they were not in there before I made changes and it was working. I am not sure on the syntax of how to include them there but I will look around for help. Thanks,

OK, I included

"domains": {

    "status": {"type": "inherited"}

   },

in each of my templates and now it is working! Thanks so much.
