Why am I unable to load the USGS National Map as a Basemap?

I recently signed up for a free trial of ArcGIS.  The past couple of days I have been working on mapping a site for permitting.  Yesterday, when I finally finished, almost immediately my map was compromised and the USGS National Map basemap I had been working on was "unavailable", luckily I grabbed a snapshot of the data beforehand.  I've tried logging out and refreshing and reopening my map file, but I get a series of error messages.  Wondering if there is any reason for this or if there is anything I can do to avoid reloading layers unto another basemap. Attached are the Error Messages that I have been receiving.

HI Morgan,

It looks like there is an issue with the https link to this basemap but not the http.

http:

USGSTopo (MapServer)

https:

USGSTopo (MapServer)

Does your organization require https?

Thanks,

Kelly

Hey Morgan,

Can you share a link to your webmap or the basemap item that you are adding to your web map?

Hi Kelly,

This is a link to my map: https://hntbnyc.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=ce8f67dc2d2945dca2744b83b6978635

If you try to open the link in the "Map Viewer" it appears as a map of the U.S. with no layers, although notice that in the thumbnail in the map details (link I provided above) there is text (and layers).

The basemap to which I am referring is one of the basemaps provided by the program ("Basemap Gallery" --> "USGS National Map").

Hey Morgan,

Can you make your map public? I am getting prompted to log in.

Hi Tim,

Map should be public now.

Morgan,

can you also allow anonymous access in your organization settings?

Configure security settings—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS

Then we should be able to see it.

Kelly,

Currently only access is through https.

This is not required, however.
