What's so special about Jan 1st 1970

The default date set in the date selector is 1/1/1970. This is very inconvenient seeing as most of the dates selected will be this year 2011. In order to get to the current date one has to click on the year advancer 81 times and then select the month and day.

I have defaults set in the date field of each feature class but these seem to be ignored in favor of 1970.

Does anyone know how to fix or work around this?

Thanks

Ben

It's day zero in Unix time.

Sorry that doesn't help you but I just read about yesterday and there a probably others that do not know this date.

It is quite cumbersome isn't it. I'll write up an enhancement request and we'll see what we can do.

By the way, you can just type in the current date too...that's much easier than clicking through the calendar.

Thanks for the input,

Mike
