Does anyone know whether the following ArcGIS Online Applications support updating items within a shared group? It is my understanding that not all applications do, but I am unable to find documentation on this.
Hello @ScottHansen__MDP_, I see the docs mention this: "Currently, most ArcGIS apps do not support updating items shared with a shared update group. To determine whether this capability is supported in a specific ArcGIS app, refer to its product documentation."
You might need to dive into the Esri docs to find the specific information per application. There doesn't seem to be one web page or PDF including so alltogether, or I haven't found it.
Update: I used the Esri Support AI Chatbot. It said (to be double-checked) that ArcGIS Experience Builder, Survey123, and ArcGIS Story Maps support shared update groups, but Web AppBuilder, ArcGIS Dashboards, and Instant Apps do not.
While I appreciate the information with assistance from ESRI's AI chatbot, ESRI should clearly communicate what applications support updating of items with a shared update group.
I hope at some point that ESRI considers including multi-user editing functionality in ArcGIS Online like other SaaS platforms do. It would be nice to view active users in an account, be able to roll back edits, and the ability to create subfolders. Another idea, if multiple users work in a single ArcGIS Online account (which I understand may not be ideal, but it happens), it would be nice to have folder level access controls, so that a password is needed to view and edit the contents of a single folder.
