Using 'wildcards' or 'contains' as options in filters or queries

Hi there,

I’ve done a search, and no-one seems to have a similar query, so this may not be possible, but I was wondering if it is possible to query and/or filter on ‘wildcards’ or ‘contains’.

My specific case is as follows: Because of the nature of making decisions based purely on remotely sensed data, I have several hundred thousand records many with multiple ‘type’ and ‘period’ attributes e.g. IRON AGE\ROMAN, BRONZE AGE\IRON AGE, 20TH CENTURY\SECOND WORLD WAR, AIRFIELD\RUNWAY, BARROW\WINDMILL MOUND

I want users to be able to query\filter these to show all examples where say BRONZE AGE or IRON AGE appears and I can’t see how. If I just wanted BRONZE AGE’, I could run a query where ‘PERIOD contains’ = BRONZE AGE and that would find all examples regardless of the string, but I can’t think how to find both BRONZE AGE and IRON AGE. Am I trying to do something too complex?

Any assistance would be most welcome.

Thank you
