Is there a way to use building footprints from OSM or ESRI base maps?

I want to tag my buildings in a map for the real estate dept to use.

Both OSM and ESRI have pretty good building footprints, I just need to "cut" out the ones I'm interested in and put them in layer so I can do a JOIN to my ownership and use data?

Hey Jay. The basemaps will only be there for contextual mapping and so would not be features you could easily tag unless you manually made features and labeled these.

I would recommend downloading the underlaying data for building footprints. You can get the footprint data from OSM through here.

Hope that helps!

Yeah, I saw that.  Even d/l a test *.osm file to hack in QGIS.  I was hoping for an "automatic" way?

Maybe I should just draw them? There could only be 20-30 structures in the end? I'll experiment.

Thanks!
