Trying to stop links opening in New Tabs

Hi,

I don't know if this is possible, but I'm creating a simple map of points and embedding it in a website.
One of the attributes contains a link to a website which I would like to open in the same tab.  Currently it opens in a new tab.

I've tried using HTML to do this, with the following:

<a target="_parent" href="http://www.google.com">Click</a>

But it still continues to open in a new tab, and inspecting the element shows that it defaults back to target="_blank".

Is there something else I could use? Or is this an underlying rule that can't be changed?
