Hi Miguel,

The ArcGIS Online development team is aware of this issue and has identified it as a future enhancement. The timing hasn??t been established.

Thank you

Fantastic news Bill.  Many thanks for passing that along.

I currently have our application setup to use the 'simple' option.  I've also left the embed option enabled.  I like the simple option because users can stay within the gallery to browse through multiple maps without leaving the site.  However, I would like to be able to give them a way to view the map with the additional options they can gete vie the explorer and arcgis options.  Is there an easy way to allow the user viewing the map.html page to then open the selected map via ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Explorer Online?

The link to our site is http://publicmaps.ofallon.org/gallery.  Thanks for your help!

Take a look at the footer in this mod of the basic map viewer:

http://gis.co.sanmateo.ca.us/map_gallery/basicviewer/index.html?webmap=ce0bdba0c92a422f89b2dfd490e02...

Let me know if you want more info about how we (non-programmers) did it.

Greetings Maps Gallery fans,

I'm implementing a few of these Map Galleries with the latest template, 1.4.1, but I can't find how to display access, or download of the apps for mobile access (similar to what our friends in Texas; Baxter County have done) anywhere. Would someone please point me on the way to activating this functionality?

Many thanks in advance.

Greetings Public Maps Gallery team,

In the official page for the template, at the very bottom of the template description, there is a statement saying:
"This template is not intended for ArcGIS Online Organization Subscription accounts when they become available."
However, I have this working with our beta version of AGO for OS. The statement above would seem to indicate that the Public Maps Gallery template would no longer work with the final version of AGO for OS. Would you please elaborate if this indeed will be the case, and why?

Many thanks in advance.

Greetings PMG team,

I have noticed that when I click on the "Fullscreen View" button whilst viewing a map, the map is no longer centred in the correct location. Is there a way of adjusting a parameter within the template so that the map centre is maintained whilst switching the map view?

Many thanks in advance.

Miguel - we put the disclaimer in because at the time that we created the PMG template we couldn't be sure how ArcGIS Online for Organizations would behave with the Gallery. Our main concern was with the Group ID - we didn't know if a Group ID for an Organization account would remain fixed (unchanging). But now the ArcGIS Online team has assured us that "a group ID is valid for the lifetime of the group." Once you create the group, the ID remains the same. Which is great news for PMG template users.

The Team cautions that if you delete the group then recreate it and name it the same, the Group may appear the same as before to the end-user but the Group ID will be different. This applies to both the Personal and Organizations side of ArcGIS Online. If this happens to the Group used by the PMG template, you'll need to edit the config file with the new Group ID.

Thank you for bringing this question to the forum. Others have been asking similar questions. We will remove the disclaimer.

After I replaced my group ID in the settings.required config file, I restart the index.html file and receive and error message.

It says...
Message from webpage
Please enter a group ID in the required settings config.

I have done that....not sure what else to do. I would like to make a Public Gallery Page. I even made changes to the settings.content file. I followed exactly what was in the quick start quide....
Please Help!!

Hi David,

Does your group have any web maps in it?

Can you post your config file and I'll see if I can diagnose the problem.

Thanks

This is currently not a config option so you'll have to add it into the HTML or in the side links yourself. All the links and images of should be in the previous version of the template. 1.3

Hi Miguel,

Yes, that should be possible. It's not currently an option but I'll see if I can get that included in an update. It would just have to find the center of the map before the resize and then reset the center after.

Thanks
