OGC Layers hosted on ArcGIS Online not useable by App Widgets

I can host an OGC layer on ArcGIS Online, published from an ArcGIS Online hosted feature layer. No problem.

I can add that OGC layer to an ArcGIS Online map, style it, configure pop-ups, all good. No problem. The map works fine.

But when I add that map that contains that OGC layer to a WebApp, or InstantApp, or Experience Builder, none of the widgets will work with that OGC layer. The OGC layer is visible in the map, inside all of these Apps. All the other layers in the map work fine with the widgets in these Apps.

But the widgets just don't seem to see the OGC layer, which is hosted on the same ArcGIS Online account.

Am I missing something?

Agreed. I have the same issue, we have multiple datasets from a third party which are OGC APIs and, whilst they appear on all the maps, they don't interact with the ESRI widgets/applications which is quite frustrating. I guess a way round it would be to export the data and serve it up as a Feature Service but the data we use changes daily and is countrywide so isn't really viable.

It would be great if ESRI widgets/apps worked alongside the OGC layers!

I came across the same issue. I am using a variety of OGC APIs layers in a Map Viewer project and they do not seem to be recognised by Arcade, which means they cannot be used in symbology and pop-up configurations. One way to overcome this problem would be to upload a copy of the layer on your AGOL environment, but some data sources make this impossible.
