My .lyrx files are not loading

I have several versions of a zoning layer saved as shapefiles, and different projects where I'm using them. Suddenly, none of these layers work anymore. The underlying shapefiles are still fine, but the styled layers no longer work or draw at all. Any ideas on what might have happened? It's weird because these files are all distinct from each other, and yet none of them work.

I did notice this error, but I can't find any info about it online. Hmm. Also, as you can see in the screenshot, the "Zoning 1" layer below is drawn, but the "Zoning" that should be drawn over is not.
