When I open my map in ArcGIS.com Online, is there a way edit what is displayed on the initial opening of the map?  I would like to be able to have the viewer default to display the "Show Map Legend" first rather than the "About this Map" option.  Also, when the map opens can I have the map contents layers already cascaded open without having to click on the map service then on the layers to show the symbology?  Finally can the overview map be viewable on the initial opening of the map in the Online viewer.  Thank you.

No, none of these settings are configurable.

Since web maps open across different client applications and don't really have client specific settings stored in the web map, we could probably expose some settings on the arcgis.com application (maybe as part of your profile) so that whenever you open a map, it opens with the TOC and overview map showing. However, this setting would be associated with your profile for arcgis.com. If someone else were to open the map, the map would open according to their settings. Would this satisfy your needs?

Thanks,

Mike

Hey Mike, thank you for the reply.  I am looking to have these settings set for all users who view the map.  I guess that's what the web application templates are for.  Again, thank you for your time.
