Item Categories in ArcGIS Online not working

Has anyone else run into the issue of categories not working in ArcGIS Online? I spent hours last week trying to organize our online items into categories (most have at least two categories) and when I filter by category two of the major groups show nothing. But when I go to edit the categories it says they each contain items, but none show up.

Problem solved! I had to remove the "&" from my category name.
