Is it possible to set several geopoint locations in survey123 and Geoform?

Hi community,

Do anyone know if, and how it is possible to set several geopoint locations in the Survey123 and Geoform applications? Does the applications support the option of several maplocations in the same survey? E.g. if the appliants using the survey are moving around and have to set several locations during the survey.

Survey123 normally supports only one location per survey; like GeoForm, multiple surveys can be taken.

There are ways to design a form to enable multiple points per survey. One way is to design a survey with a "repeat" group of questions that include a geopoint question; this requires the use of Survey123 Connect to author the survey (as opposed to the web author). A repeat group creates a related table that is linked to main survey's table in the database. A case where this might be used is inspecting a multi-building campus; the parent form would record information about the overall campus (land area, location of the main entrance) and the repeat would record information about each building (location, name of building, age, etc.). A second way to obtain multiple locations per survey is available if using the Survey123 mobile client to fill in the survey. When a photo is taken, the GPS information at the time of the photo is stored with the photo as part of it's metadata (EXIF information). You would author a form with a series of image questions; after the data has been submitted, the locations can be extracted and converted into a feature class. Hi Niklas,

Are you trying to set multiple locations for one record (multipoint) or submit multiple records? Geoform supports submitting one record at a time, but the same user can submit multiple records. Multipoint geometry can't be submitted.

Thank you very much, I were wondering on both (both setting multipoints in one map with different colors, and have multiple questions with a location). Too bad multipoints in one record is not supported.

Hi Palmas,

We currently do not support automatic location gathering within a repeat; automatic collection works with non-repeat sections of forms.
