Identify, Find and Go to XY are missing in ArcGIS Online,

I???m wondering how the very basic tools are missing in the ArcGIS online such as Identify, Find (search) and Go to XY.

Then how one can take the advantage of the ArcGIS Online while these tools are missing?

Thank you

Best

^^^^^YES!!!!!

I would like to have my students enter longitude and latitude coordinates in the Search tool so they can go to a specific location.  How do you do this in the ArcGIS Online Map Viewer?

Thanks,

hi Jamal

We're trying out some experimental services that might be helpful. Arc2Earth Services include:

Locators - Search against any Feature Service in your account. Identify (mobile apps only) as well. You can also specify the Locator as as GotoXY service, users can enter any lat/lon value and the map will pan/zoom to it

Basemaps - Use any Tile Layer in all ArcGIS Online Apps/APIs. Wraps the tile cache as a AGS MapServer so it can be used from web/api/mobile clients.

If you have an Arc2Earth account, just use the new "Services" tab at the top of the page and try them out for free.

Jamal,

You can zoom to a long / lat by typing the coord into the search box, i,e:

-2.0,51.0 or 2w,51n

Will zoom you to 2 degrees west 51 degrees north.

Identify can be set up by creating popups on your feature layers

This looks good, also needs to be decimal degrees as the format

Many thanks for the help,

The log/lat works fine.

For practical purposes, we do use other projected coordinate system in real life rather than log/lat format. This appears not to applicable in the ArcGIS Online
