How to automate the management of Spatial Indexes for Hosted Feature Layer using ArcGIS API for Python

I am searching for a way to automate the rebuilding of spatial indexes for a Hosted Feature Layer that I am regularly overwriting on ArcGIS Online. I have several view layers dependent upon the Hosted Feature Layer and they simply will not work unless I rebuild the indexes. Right now, I have to manually use this button, making it difficult to automate the ETL process. Is it possible to automate this?
