Zoomedin_Legend_symbology.PNG

Hi everyone, this screenshot is from a webmap export test. On the right in this photo you can see what the symbols look like on the map, and the legend in ArcGIS Pro displays the whole symbol. However once exported to ArcGIS Online, the legend symbology looks like what you can see in this screenshot, it's zoomed in on the center of the symbology instead of displaying the entire symbol. I thought it could be an issue with the .svg being too large so I made 100x100 pixel versions of the .svg's, re-added and re-exported and nothing changed. Thanks for any help or insights into this problem

Are you able to share the web map or pro project and I can help take a look

hmm looks like something funky with the symbol. Can you share the pro-package if possible where the symbol is being used.

Unfortunately the project package is way too large to share here, but this is the layer package of one of the layers with this issue, and I've also attached the .svg's I made. Thanks again

2 things I see in the symbol are

- Symbol has duplicate elements so its kind of like double the symbol inside the one symbol layer

- Point size is pretty large, when I added the Earthquake75 to do a fresh symbol my point size was around 100 but yours is looking like 1200

My sample when I published from Pro

But I also took a look at your SVG and inside of it is just a PNG. Is there a reason you are wrapping the PNG as an SVG?

  • The duplicate elements are kind of strange, but the original layer has two different colored circles as elements, when I add an image to be used as symbology it replaces both of them.
  • The reason that one is at 1240 pt is I linked a blown up version of the image as an inverse of the 100x100 pixel test and forgot to change it back before I exported the layer.
  • I've been having issues with uploading .png's as symbology recently so I've been using .svg's as a workaround by taking png's and exporting them as .svg's using a service called photopea. It's definitely not ideal but I didn't notice any issues until working with this webmap.

Good to see it's working on your end though! Did you make any changes or just link the .svg and publish? If you didn't have to do anything else I'll have one my co-workers export when they get the chance and see if it works when they try it.

Are you uploading the PNGs directly to Map Viewer or through Pro?
