how can i add shape files to excell files to see statistical country data on map

i am a new user of arcgis online. I wish to show the world bank development indicators on a map.
They download as excell  or Xml files. How ow can i join to them country shape files in order to import them as a layer to a map? and  where can i find such shape files?
Thank you very much in advance for your kind help. I am frustrated trying to find out by myself...

You would have to find a dataset and join the data yourself. Here's a world countries dataset I found on arcgis online...

I cant find the country shape files you wrote you found.
Are they attached  somewhere? can you give me their url?
Do i attach them first as a couloum to the exell file?

It's a layer package, not a shapefile. You need ArcGIS Desktop to open it.
