Hosted Feature Service - Item does not exist or is inaccessible...!?!?

I just successfully published a hosted feature service to my AOL organizational account. When I try to view item details I get an error stating that the item does not exist or is inaccessible...!?!? What gives??? ESRI...your killing me!

So unpredictable and frustrating, #2. 
ArcGIS 10.2.1

Trying to overwrite an existing service with 2660 features.  I've changed the parameter to 3000 records.  ArcMap > Share As > Service indicates successful publishing.  When I open the features in ArcGIS Online or in another MXD, there are 0 records.  The layer will load, but upon opening the table, there are no records, and no features draw on the map.  No error messages.

Am I doing something wrong in the overwriting?  Is it possible overwriting just doesn't work a lot of the time?
