Freeing Up Space and Credits

Hey Esri Community,

We have recently been seeing a large increase in our Credit Usage. To help, I have gone through and begun to purge items from AGOL. The question that I have is, after deleting items and doing some cleaning-up, is there anything else that needs to be done to increase space or credits? Is there any additional admin tasks that can be completed to assist?

In addition, I have seen in other posts that there is the ability to perform compresses of host feature layers. Does this only affect the feature layer that the compress is performed on or is it across all layers?

Does your credit status show that the bulk is being used by storage vs. analytics? After I deleted some large hosted feature layers that were duplicates, I saw our credit usage drop back down. I'm not aware of other admin tasks to complete for that. You can customize member roles so that some users can't publish various types of hosted layers if those are eating up your credits. If analytics are an issue, I would make sure you have credit allowances assigned to each user so they can't burn through too many accidently.

Our Credit Usage is on Storage, that seems to be where it is all going.

You might want to test this, but I don't think removing records from hosted feature layers compresses the data on AGOL.  I believe you need to delete the hosted feature layer and recreate it which presents the problem of a new itemID so web maps and web apps with that hosted feature layer would need to be reconfigured which is time consuming.

I'm seeing the same issue.  I tried deleting old feature layers to reduce storage too.  I eventually created a ticket with ESRI and they helped me do a few things and it came down but it is back up again.  A few things they told me decrease the credit usage is trimming the track logs, deleting replicas in Workforce projects.  This is done in the rest services, replicas then unregister replicas.  I'm here looking for more ways to reduce.
