As I understand it, the option to configure related tables for viewing/editing in Map Viewer Forms is currently limited to HOSTED feature layers.
Does anyone know if and when (even just a rough estimate) ESRI plans to implement related table capabilities for non-hosted feature service layers?
Mostly, I'm just looking for information to decide how much time to invest in a WAB app, as related table viewing/editing is essential for our organization. If the capability for non-hosted feature services is coming soon, I'll spend less time on WAB and wait to use Experience Builder. Otherwise, I'll stick with WAB for now. Any other suggestions for work arounds would be appreciated as well - am I missing something that would be better?
@DougBrowning we have a new recruit. Any insights?
Re app to use, just do web app builder. The apps can be quick enough to build to warrant the effort vs potential long wait (assuming enterprise release + upgrade time)
No update, having trouble even getting them to admit the issue still.
this is fixed with de last update for ArcGIS Online within experience builder and other apps like de web editing app. it only lacks within the Map Viewer, so it is not possible to crate a nice popup.
@Jande_Wit with the latest release of ArcGIS Online as of 11/27/24, I am unable to produce an experience builder project (within ArcGIS Online, not EB Dev.) that allows me to access/edit a related table using the edit widget for a non-hosted feature layer (feature layer served by REST service/ArcGIS Server). Am I missing something? Is there another widget besides the edit widget that I should be using?
i think the ArcGIS server must be 11.2 or higher
@Jande_Wit @JandeWit Are you able to confirm that the only way to view/edit non-hosted feature layers in ArcGIS Online is by hosting/serving them via ArcGIS Server 11.2 or higher? I don't have access to an ArcGIS Server environment of that version to verify on my end.
Does the existing AGOL framework support the use of non-hosted feature layers with related tables in the new map viewer or any other newer apps (Experience Builder, Instant Apps, etc.)? As of 1/17/25, I am still unable to edit/view any related records/tables of a non-hosted feature layer in AGOL unless it's using the "Classic" map viewer or Web App Builder.
I've just tested it with a ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 feature service and that works within ArcGIS Online. So the answer is: yes, it works.
Documentation says that it is implemented from ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2
I also tested it in the (new) ArcGIS Online Viewer, so not the classic one. Ad that also works (finally)
