Sorry if I am asking about something that has been asked before, I could not find anything on Geonet on this specific issue.  Here is my problem:

I have a someone who needs to edit the location of a point in a hosted feature layer.  The feature layer is comprised of 2 layers:

In the map the layers are not editable even though they have been set to editable in the layer Settings.

In the map, it says "feature creation is disabled for all layers". The points cannot be moved but attributes can be edited.  Does anyone have any suggestions on why this is happening?

Thanks much-

Kate

Hi Kate,

It looks like the settings in your layer might only allow for updating attributes.  Please check the setting under "What kind of editing is allowed?" in your item details Settings. Hope this helps!

Best,

Marisa

Hi Marisa-

Thanks for the suggestion, that is what I thought too but I made sure that "Add, update, and delete features" was selected.

Wondering if this is something related to how the hosted feature layer was created; he published 2 feature classes as a service from ArcMap.  I just tested this with 1 of his feature classes, the layer published from ArcMap to AGOL is not editable (even after changing the settings), but when adding the layer from shapefile format to Content I am able to edit the feature layer. I never noticed this before, though I rarely host layers from ArcMap, just tiles.  I did test this with one of my datasets; published from ArcMap to AGOL and I am able to edit the layer (as I would expect after changing the item settings). Could this be a issue if there are settings within the gdb, like relationships, that can cause this to happen when pushed out to AGOL?

Thanks!

Kate
