Change the label placement up or down

Hi, I am Namrata Acharya from NCDOT Division 6. I have question: Would you please change the label placement up or down instead of center in Street and Place Names layer in NCDOT AIC Division 6 Maintenance Staff Map?

Hi Namrata,

If you do not own or manage the web map, you won’t be able to change the label placement directly. In ArcGIS Online Map Viewer, label positioning options are limited, but placing street labels above or below the line (instead of centered) can be configurable from there.
To achieve more complex type of label placement, the layer would need to be styled in ArcGIS Pro using the Maplex Label Engine (e.g., setting labels to “above” or “below” the line), and then republished to ArcGIS Online.

If this map is maintained by another team within NCDOT, you may need to contact the map owner or GIS administrator to request that change.
