When creating a new feature within Field Maps the template menu shows the name of the hosted service definition instead of the name of the layer within the web map. This is not very intuitive for the end user. Is there any way to change this besides updating the service definition itself?

Hi @SH_DH

You can use Field Maps Designer to manage the feature template- including updating the display name.

Open the map in Field Maps Designer.  With the Layer selected, Click on the Templates tab > Select the Template > Enter the new name in the box under 'Display name' on the right hand side.
