Can I password protect my map?

Hi everyone,

I recently published a map that I want to be able to share with my company, and just my company. However, not everyone in my company has ArcGIS and therefore they can't sign in to view the map. Is there a way to password protect the Online Map so I can share the password with individuals from my company that are not within my ArcGIS Organization?

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Rachel

Thanks so much

Click on Groups at the top toolbar once in Online then Create a Group within the Online environment.  Under "Group Membership" > "Who Can View This Group" select "Members Only".  Under "How Can People Join This Group" select "By Invitation".

they will need a user name and password to access the site.

add that user name as a Member then only Members of that group will be able to see that map (and others located in that group).

Unfortunately I don't believe you can do that, it would go against ESRI's pricing model.

you can absolutely do it this way provided the individuals accessing the site are members of your organization.

it is against the license terms to allow persons from outside your organization to access your ArcGIS Online account by giving them one of your user accounts to access the site.  there are other ESRI platforms that do allow this but it sounds like you are wanting members of your organization to have access.

I've created groups and assigned user accounts (and only those user accounts) to access those groups which abides by the license terms.

Only three members in my company have an ArcGIS license, including myself. I would like to have other people in my company that do not have an ArcGIS license to be able to view the maps as the information is somewhat sensitive. Is there a way to just have them be a viewer and not have to pay $500 minimum for them to be able to view the map website?

Viewer accounts which have limited functionality but allow users to view the site cost $165 Canadian dollars.  Not sure of the cost in USD.  There are other account level that have functionality beyond just viewing that cost more.

Could you send me a link to that and I can check?
