Our client has AGE and we'd like to invite their users to our AGOL and AGE orgs. Can this be done? What are the pre-requisites to make this possible? Thanks.

While ArcGIS Online has an "invite user" function that allows a public ArcGIS Online account to be converted into an organizational account, this is currently not possible in ArcGIS Enterprise, as members joined to a Portal must either be built-in users or members of your Active Directory/identity store.
If you're interested in sharing content between Portals (ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online), consider checking out the Distributed Collaboration functionality, which allows for content sharing between organizations.
