Hi,

is there an option to add a point to a feature layer based on absolute x,y?

E.G. choose edit point and than place the point by entering the coordinates (e.g. in decimal degrees)

Thanks

Felix

Hey Felix,

This is not possible by just changing a X/Y field in the attribute table. In ArcGIS Desktop you could use the XY tool to get to the point and place a graphic and then place your point on the map.

In ArcGIS Online you can put x/y into the search box and it will get you there.

Hope this helps!

Hey Tim,

thanks for the comment. But I do not want to change an existing point. What I want to do is:

  • I get a coordinate pair (e.g. lost anchor)
  • I go to the web application (configured with AGOL web app builder)
  • I choose the edit widget and the lost anchor feature
  • And than I want to create the point by typing in x,y instead of clicking somewhere in the map. (like the Absolute x,y function in ArcMap)

This doesn't seems to be rocket science, but I am not able to find such a solution...

Any ideas / samples?

Thanks

Felix
