I've added the Landsat 8 Views into my AGOL account as a web service. In the Landsat 8 Properties, does anybody know what the username and password is for?;

When you first setup the item under my content you will need to set it up to store the credentials with the item and not prompt the user. Then make sure the layer item is shared publicly like the map and you should not see any prompting for secured layers.
You will see the username and password boxes on secured services that are items under my content. You can embed those credentials with the service so other viewers of the item will not be prompted for credentials.
Russell,
Does include web maps publicly available?
I have entered in the creditials for this layer, but the web map is still asking for the credentials to use Landsat.

Russell,
That's what I was trying but their seems to be a problem with the Gallery template and sharing via a group. We have this gallery online using a downloaded template from Esri GitHub;

I only wanted to add a web map and this is where the map repeatably asked for the sign in credentials even though I had entered them in the Landsat 'My Content'. However when I share the web map as a web app via the same Group, it goes onto the gallery page no problem and works fine. I will go with this option and use a simple viewer template.
