AGO - add users across organizations

I have a question that I am hoping to have help resolving. At the UC I was assured I could do this, but whenever I try to accomplish this task it fails.

I own an organizational account.

Colleague also owns an organizational account.

I would like to invite her to a group in my organizational account WITHOUT forcing her to abandon her organizational account and become a member of my organizational account.

How do I do this? If I search for her username to invite a member to my group it cannot find her. DESPITE knowing that I have her username correct.

What am I doing wrong?

Hello,

In order to invite a user to a group in a different organization, try the following:

1. Ensure that the user that you are going to invite is in an organization (this isn't possible with public accounts)

2. Check the users profile setting "Who can view my profile". This needs to be set to Everyone(public) in order for the username to be found by outside organizations:
