The ability to link attachments (images, docs, etc.) to features in ArcGIS Online is great functionality, but it would be nice if, instead of having attachments open in a new window, they would open inside the pop-up window itself. The new window containing the attachment tends to cover up the map.

Just came here to post the same idea.
It seems counter-productive for many things including story maps.

It would be great to be able to see a picture from the attachment that was GPS'd in Collector and be able to see the image. After all, it's worth 1,000 words. That's a lot of attributes!

Yes! We currently have to download the photos unattaching them from their features, store them elsewhere web-accessible, and then create a new field with the URLs to view them directly in popup. Much debate about where/how to store them. Writing a script to get the URLs directly from attach table into a new field takes a lot of finagling, too. We would love to be able to view them in the popup directly from the attach table which would maintain data integrity.

This is a much needed functionality for arcgis online maps. Would love to see it available for all maps and apps across online platform.
Currently, using web server to store the photos externaly. But, maintinance of those photos detached from features is a big process.

Yes, please provide ability to display attached images inline as an image instead of just a link. In case of multiple images I'm okay with just first one showing inline.

Definitely needs implementation sooner rather than later.
