When using Print in Map Viewer, the assumption is that you want a full page map (Letter, A4, A3). For students wanting to insert a map into a report, it can be useful to have an A5 (half-A4) page option so they can place map and commentary on the same document page.
Creating an image output at A4 and then shrinking causes unreadable text. Creating for A5 initially would scale the layout contents appropriately.
