I have set up several maps for staff to use for data collection with the Field Maps app. Often they open the map in Map Viewer when back in the office to edit their data or enter some additional data. Most of the staff have Mobile Worker accounts with Data Editor roles and therefore can’t change things like the form that I created for entering/editing data for a layer. However, some have clicked on the Configure Editing -> Form tool in the layer properties and it takes them to a blank page entitled Configure Editing. Nothing comes up telling them that they don’t have privileges to edit the form and there is no easy way to exit out of this page. Neither the Cancel or OK button does anything and the X in the upper right does not close the page. The only way I can find to exit the page is to click the back arrow in the upper right of the window. This shuts down the map completely and takes me back to the web map’s detail page – not very friendly.
In contrast, if they click Configure Editing -> Template, there is a message on the Template page that says they do not have privileges to edit this and the X button in the upper right will close the window and return them to the map. This is much friendlier.
Would it be possible to enable a way to back out of the Configure Editing – Form page if you don’t have privileges to edit it? Or better yet, disable the Configure Editing option if the user doesn’t have appropriate privileges.
