Sometimes Instant apps is about 80% of what I need an application to do. I also find (admittedly because of my own lack of experience) that Experience Builder is time-consuming to set up. It would be fantastic to be able to start in Instant Apps, then export or save into Experience Builder to further expand functionality beyond what Instant Apps is capable of.
My opinion - this would not be an easy thing for dev to implement. One thing to consider is that the map you author is the foundational substrate for any app you publish with it - Instant Apps, ExB, Dashboards, Stories, etc.
I would focus on making excellent, well-crafted maps that you can leverage in a variety of different ways in the ArcGIS ecosystem.
Is there no way to open an app developed in 'Instant Apps' within Experience Builder? I don't see one. I think that is what he is stating. I too agree, you can get an app 80% of the way there in Instant Apps, and it would be nice to be able to 'convert' it to an Experience Builder app, likely a 1-time irreversible action, but then you could continue to build out the app further. Yes, you can just start from Experience Builder, but when we are all trying to save time, it is much faster to develop a lightweight app in Instant Apps.
