Classic map viewer allows for dragging of .GPX file into interface. We use bad elf GPS devices, and the output is a .GPX file for reporting purposes we use ArcGIS Online to create maps using these files overlaying with key data layers within our organization. Traditionally, bad elf GPS devices are compatible with Esri applications. We're hopeful this simple (user perspective) task can be incorporated in the new beta map viewer.
