ArcGIS Online Map Viewer Charts labels instead of codes

We have data that were collected using Field Maps, so some of the fields are coded integers with labels. When using the Charts options and using one of these fields, the chart will label with the integer code, without an option to change that to the label. Whereas we can use an Arcade function to label the map with the string values. Are we missing a setting? Or any chance this functionality can be added?

@JeremyMack_LU this blog indicates that you might be able to manually change the label. https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-online/analytics/6-map-viewer-chart-hacks-you-might... Not as convenient as just having the label applied but potentially a work around?
