ArcGIS Online items should have information on whether the items's life cycle has been considered (Life cycle: boolean type true/false information). If the life cycle data is set true, additional information is required:

  • Item Removal Date: dd.mm.yyyy
  • Can an item be automatically deleted on deletion date: Yes/No
  • Archive data on the map?: Yes/No
  • Where is the data archived?: free text field or the possibility to point to the storage location to the customer's cloud storage?
  • How long is archived data stored?: dd.mm.yyyy

With that lifecycle data, you could filter ArcGIS Online content to see objects with a specific lifecycle. In addition, when depreciation dates are required as additional information, the information could be used to automatically send a reminder to the owner of the object about the end of its life cycle. In addition, it could be an option that, if the target does not have an archiving obligation, AGOL could automatically delete the items.
