I should be able to use my ArcGIS Online credits to purchase imagery using content store for ArcGIS. It would make the process so much easier.

Great idea, but unfortunately probably unlikely to happen, as the AGO credits from Esri have no actual monetary value outside of AGO, and the charges for imagery content must be paid to 3rd party vendor/"partners". Esri doesn't own the content, and I don't see Maxar or any other vendor accepting Esri credits for their IP or Esri paying real dollars to them but charging us only credits.
