We’re advocating for support to incorporate the ability to update tiled imagery layers in ArcGIS Online.
Background
According to ArcGIS Blog Updating your hosted imagery layer in ArcGIS Online with ArcGIS API for Python 3/31/23 – authored by Jeff Swain:
- “Only dynamic imagery layers with the image collection layer configuration can be updated.”
- “you will have to manually delete and replace your tiled imagery layer each time you need to update it.”
- “tiled imagery layers are fused during creation and are optimized for display, so the only way to update them is to delete and replace them. However, the ability to update tiled imagery layers is coming in a future release.”
