Ability to remap/repair feature layers in a web map when they get corrupt/disconnected by an overwrite of a service

Hi.  Based on my call with support there is a know issue with overwriting web layers from Pro to AGO and sometimes it breaks the connection to a web map they are in.  If that cannot be fixed it would be great if you could atleast repoint the layers in the web map to the updated feature layer and keep the symbology and filters so you don't have to recreate your map.  I spent half my day recreating web maps that used our bikeway and sidewalk layers because the overwrite of the web layers did something bad that i was unaware of.  There was no error message during the overwrite and the layer itself appears fine.

I know this is an old post, but I leave this here in case others are looking for this information and stumble across this question.   

Have you tried the ArcGIS Online Assistant?  It lets you edit links in the backend of your map:
