Transition to the New Home Page before the March Update
The new ArcGIS Online home page, introduced in June 2020, provides a sleek and modern experience for your organization’s members and the public. Old (legacy) home pages will automatically be replaced with the new home page at the next ArcGIS Online update, planned for March 22, 2022. Transition to the new home page before the legacy home page is automatically replaced to ensure your home page looks and performs as desired.
What happens if you don’t transition?
Legacy home pages will automatically be replaced with a default new home page at the ArcGIS Online March 2022 update or the September 2022 update if you request an extension on the Organization tab. A significant loss of content and formatting can occur because the default new home page will only include the organization's title, item gallery (showcasing featured content), and a stock cover image.
The following components and formats will be lost:
- Background image
- Banner image
- Organization description
- Text
- HTML and CSS formatting
If you edited the new home page but did not switch to it before the update, the default home page will display until you save your edits in the home page editor.
Create a New Home Page
Use the new home page editor to create a unique entry point for your ArcGIS Online organization. The editor includes pre-built components so you can quickly assemble the framework of your homepage. The page settings are paired with a live preview of your design choices so you can explore the options and immediately see if the page looks and functions as desired. Start building your new home page now, and once you are satisfied, you can switch to it. If you need additional time, you can request an extension on the Organization tab.
